Overview
Discover Mongolia while riding horseback through the countryside. Get up close and personal with each of Mongolia’s famous Eight Lakes, located 2,400 m above sea level in the Khangai mountains. We will ride to Shireet, Khaliut, Deep, Haya, Shanaa, Duruu, Bayan, and Huis Lakes which range from 500 to 3,000 meters apart.

Tour Plan
In the morning we will pick you up from your hotel and drive to Elsen Tasarkhai, an 80 km long stretch of dunes surrounded by forested steppe.
We will trek along the dunes and then travel to the city of Kharkhorin (the ancient capital of Mongolia). Here, we will visit Mongolia’s oldest existing monastery, the Kharkhorin Monastery.
Stay overnight in local family’s guest ger.
Lunch and Dinner.
Early in the morning, we will drive to Ulaan Tsutgalan, a famous waterfall about 10 meters wide and 20 meters high in the middle the Orkhon Valley.
Here we will meet with the horse guides and the horses. From the Orkhon waterfall, we will ride to the Buureg valley at the foot of the Bayan mountains.
Stay overnight in local family’s guest ger.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
After breakfast we will ride to the first of the Eight Lakes, Duruu Lake. On the way, we will see the small White Horse Lake and Bayan Lake. When we arrive at Duruu Lake, you may notice that it looks like a saddle’s stirrup.
Stay overnight in a tent.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
After breakfast we will ride to Deer Lake. We will see other small lakes such as the Huis, Shana, and Haya Lakes.
We will be crossing small rivers and mountains, so don’t forget you camera!

After breakfast, we will ride all day to the biggest of the Eight Lakes, Shireet Lake. We will get to cross streams and mountains to see Khaliut Lake, one of Mongolia’s most beautiful lakes.
Stay overnight in a tent on banks of Deer Lake.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
After breakfast, we will ride all day to the biggest of the Eight Lakes, Shireet Lake. We will get to cross streams and mountains to see Khaliut Lake, one of Mongolia’s most beautiful lakes.

In the morning, we will drive west to the beautiful Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes. We will then eat lunch in a ger camp.
After lunch, we will switch from riding horses to riding camels and venture through the sand dunes. In the evening, we will have some time to explore the sand dunes freely.
Stay overnight in a ger.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
After breakfast, we will have some time to see the sand dunes early in the morning.
Then, we will leave Elsen Tasarkhai and return to your hotel in Ulaanbaatar.
