This 7 days tour will offer you a rich variety of landscapes, nature and wildlife in just a few days. From enjoying the green steppe of the Khustai National Park and it's rich wildlife, wild deers, and the Prezwalski horses, last wild horses of Mongolia. Continuing towards the sand dunes of the Elsen Tasarkai National Park and ride camels. More than the nature, we will visit Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of Mongolia with its famous Erdenee Zuu Monastery. A stop by the Ogii Lake and visiting a nomadic family, on our way to our second Monastery : Amarbayasgalant, a true splendor and peaceful place, saved from the religious purges.
Khuvsgul Lake Ice Festival & Tsaatan Tour
Each year in March, residents of Mongolia’s Khövsgöl Lake area celebrate the Khövsgöl Ice Festival with horse-drawn sleighs, elaborate ice sculptures, traditional food and vibrant competitions including ice skating, ice sumo wrestling, tug of war, ice ger building and dog sledding – all on the dark blue ice of the frozen lake. During the Festival, the lake after becomes a frozen playground for locals and visitors alike. For the occasion, participants dress up in their own colourful, traditional costumes that represent the country’s different regions where they hail from. Here you can witness the traditions and lifestyles of Mongolian reindeer herders who descend to the lake from their taiga homeland, while local shamans perform their rituals with a fire-burning ceremony. With our 10 days tour, you will enjoy a full experience of the Khuvsgul Lake and Northern region of Mongolia. First with the Ice Festival and its festivities, continuing by the Tsaatan communities and their reindeers.
Meditation in Amarbayasgalant Monastery
The Amarbayasgalant Monastery is the second largest monastery in Mongolia and is one of the few monasteries in Mongolia that has remained intact despite religious purges during the 1930s. The beauty, decorations, and construction of the monastery have made it one of the most magnificent architectural monuments in Mongolia. With our 11 days program, embark with us on a peaceful and relaxing meditating journey in a 300 years old Buddhist Monastery. On the last day of the tour, you will witness the sacred Tsam Mask Dance being organized every year by the monks of Amarbayasgalant. This is a truly unique experience that very few had the chance to take part in. INFORMATION : - Our Meditation teacher speaks English and practice sound healing and Samatha-Vipassana meditation - Our Yoga teacher is a certified Yoga instructor that teaches in an Ulaanbaatar Yoga Center. - Accomodation every night will be in the tourist camp near the Monastery.
