Each year, Mongolians celebrate numerous festivals in honor of their traditional culture. This tour will give you an opportunity to participate in two of them: the yak festival and the felt art festival. Both organized in the Orkhon River Valley, these festivals offer you the chance to learn about Mongolia’s nomadic lifestyle, rural life, and the origins of Mongolian society.
We will leave Ulaanbaatar at 9:00 am and drive to Darkhan, the capital city of the Darkhan Uul province.
We will stop briefly in Darkhan to eat lunch and visit some local attractions. From Darkhan we will drive west to reach the Iven Valley and the Amarbaysgalant Monastery by the afternoon. We will visit the Amarbaysgalant Monastery and eat dinner.
We will spend a night in the ger camp of a local family. Lunch and dinner.
