Overview

Spend several days with a traditional Mongolian family, visit the Amarbayasgalant Buddist monastery, get your hands a little dirty, and make your own traditional clothing. On this tour you will have the opportunity to live with nomadic families in their homes, help them cook in the nomadic-life kitchen, collect water, and herd and handle animals such as horses, cows, goats, and sheep.

The main attraction is that you will learn how to sew your own traditional garments, including khurems, khantaazs, or deels under the direction of nomadic women. Mongolians wear warm and cozy sheep skin deels in the winter, padded deels in spring and autumn, and light deels during the summer.
