First thing, we will drive to Tsagaan Suvarga. Here we will see limestone cliffs with spots of bright red and purple minerals. From the top of the cliffs, we will look out along the badlands.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
From Tsagaan Suvarga we will drive to Yolyn Am, a deep and narrow gorge in the Gurvan Saikhan Mountains. This gorge is named after the Lammergeier, which is called Yol in Mongolian.
We will explore the valley on foot and learn about its history.

We will then travel to the magnificent Khongoryn Els, one of the largest and most spectacular sand dunes in Mongolia. The dunes stand up to 30 meters high and 12 kilometers wide. They stretch 100 kilometers along the desert. We will have time to climb to the top of the dunes, ride camels, and visit a nomadic family.

From Khongryn Els, we will drive to Bayanzag–also known as the Flaming Cliffs. This area is famous for yielding the first discovery of dinosaur eggs. Also specimens of Velociraptor and eutherian mammals have been found here.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
After breakfast, we will leave Bayanzag and drive to the Ongi Monastery on the banks of the Ongi River. At its peak the monastery had 28 temples and housed more than a thousand Buddhist monks.
However, Ongi was badly destroyed during the Stalinist purges in the 1930s. Now the monastery is mostly in ruins. But thanks to locals in 1994, one of the temples was rebuilt and a few monks have since returned.
