Overview

Central Mongolia is made up of the most vegetated land in all of Mongolia, including the Khangai Mountains. With rivers running through each crevice, these fertile mountains are home to various plant and animal life. The wildlife found here includes elk, Siberian roe deer, wolf, fox, wild boar, ibex, lynx, and the occasional brown bear. In addition, countless ancient burial sites and fortress ruins are scattered across this montainous area.

Tour Plan

We will leave Ulaanbaatar at 9:00 am and drive to Darkhan, the capital city of the Darkhan Uul province.

We will stop briefly in Darkhan to eat lunch and visit some local attractions. From Darkhan we will drive west to reach the Iven Valley and the Amarbaysgalant Monastery by the afternoon. We will visit the Amarbaysgalant Monastery and eat dinner.

We will spend a night in the ger camp of a local family. Lunch and dinner.
